TWH Unites for World Alzheimer’s Month and raises £388 for Alzheimer's Society

For World Alzheimer's Month, TWH came together for a truly special event in support of World Alzheimer’s Month. We are excited to share the success of our Bake for Dementia fundraiser, which raised an impressive £194 for the Alzheimer’s Society. With TWH matching this amount, we proudly contributed a total of £388 to this important cause.

The day was filled with meaningful activities, engaging everyone in various ways. Our dining room transformed into a vibrant art studio, where residents, staff, and family members gathered to paint on mini easels. It was a beautiful sight, as creativity flowed and people connected through art. Painting has been shown to offer significant benefits for those living with dementia, helping them express emotions, reduce stress, and stimulate cognitive functions. Witnessing the joy and enthusiasm as participants crafted their mini masterpieces was truly heartwarming.

Meanwhile, our lounge became a cosy hub of activity, filled with the delightful aroma of freshly baked cakes. Residents, families, and staff enjoyed tea, sweet treats, and lively conversations. There was an undeniable sense of togetherness as everyone shared stories, forged new friendships, and reminisced about fond memories. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and connection, making it a day to remember.

In keeping with the spirit of the event, attendees wore forget-me-not pins and stickers—a symbol of dementia awareness and a reminder of our collective commitment to supporting those affected by this condition. The forget-me-not flower beautifully represented our pledge to remember and stand by those impacted by dementia.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated—whether by baking, donating, or simply joining us to make the day a success. Your contributions will make a real difference by supporting the Alzheimer’s Society’s critical work, including funding research for a cure, providing support services, and raising awareness about dementia.

A special thank you to both current and former members of the TWH family who came together for this cause. Your generosity and support are making a lasting impact on the lives of those living with dementia and their families. We look forward to continuing this journey of awareness and advocacy, and we are so proud of the collective effort that made this event such a success.
